Congratulations to Team #5 of Chris Sorin on having there Lightning Sprint on Display at the 1st Annual Swap Meet at the Walker Auto Parts Sunday September 26th.

There were many people who had never seen a lightning sprint before...Imagine that they said that they would come out and see us race this season of 2011, Many thanks to Reg at Walker Auto Parts for giving us the opportunity to display our Lightning Sprint.

Congratulations to #4C Chris and Melissa Bouwman they are proud to announce the arrival of their baby girl Mia on Aug. 18th.Everyone is healthy and happy and settling in to their new life together

The Team Dynasty Bathrooms Lightning Sprint and Super Truck appeared at the Winnipeg Goldeyes baseball game to raise money for Children's Charities (Field of Dreams Foundation).

Congratulations to #27 Chris Unruh and his team for taking part in the "Harvest For Kids" fundraiser.

An incredible 204 registered combines simultaneously harvested a field for 5 minutes to break the old record of 175 combines.

The event took place in Winkler, Manitoba on Saturday, August 7, 2010.

July 25th

The Team Dynasty Bathrooms Lightning Sprint and Super Truck took part in the 11th annual Lions Club of East St. Paul's Show & Shine at the East St. Paul Recreation Complex. There were close to 400 cars in attendance for this great event!

June 30th

Well race fans it certainly has been a wet year. Many dates have been rained out so far this season. Not a good year to own a race track I must say. The weekend of June 18 & 19 was a painful weekend. Myself and a crew member decided to get some extra seat time so we towed to Grand Forks and were rained out Friday. We proceeded to venture to Greenbush Minnesota to race on Saturday and once again were rained out. This past weekend my brother Patrick participated in a car show with the Sprint Car and brought back a first place trophy! The car show was called " iLLconformity Summer Shocker 2010" with approx 200 cars I am told. The car show was in support of "Cancer Care Manitoba" so the Sprint Car was very fitting since the nose wing displays their logo. We would rather be racing but with all this rain we have been trying to give our sponsors as much exposure as possible and it is tough having a car sitting. Please see attachments for pictures of car show. More great news I received a phone call last night letting me know that our car and sponsors will be on the front page of this Thursdays program at Red River Co-op Speedway.

Our Future Sprint Car Driver for the NLSA

Darlene and Jacques Sorin are thrilled to announce the arrival of their third grandson and future sprint car driver, Dominic Zachary David Sorin.  Dominic was born on May 29, 2010, weighing 7 lbs 3 ozs, 19 1/2 inches long. Proud parents are Chris and Corissa Sorin. Big sister Miley now has a playmate. No doubt Dominic will catch the "race fever" and fall into the footsteps of Grandpa Sorin and Daddy Chris to become the 3rd generation sprint car racer

NLSA drivers Amber Balcaen, Roland Bernard, Jennifer Carlson, Darren Pallen, and Chris Unrau enjoyed a great weekend at Cruisin' Dauphin on September 5th and 6th, 2009. 

August 8th & 9th

Chris Unrau had his car in the Winkler Parade, the Morden Corn and Apple Festival and the Altona Drag Races recently. Thanks to Chris for all his hard work.

Darren had his Lightning Sprint on display at the Napa Auto Parts store along with Derrick Pollocks Enduro car, three Drag Cars & Alexis Budel's Go-Karts.

Another NLSA driver gives back to the community.

Roland Bernard, driver of the #2 Lightning Sprint is challenging NLSA members and car buffs of all genres to join him at a Charity Car Show. Special guest Mayor Sam Katz will be presenting awards for all categories… 

Saturday’s Events will include:

Car Show, featuring a wide variety of classifications, including Classics, Muscle Cars, Tuners, Street and Motorcycles etc.

Autocross Rally Course, for those who always to try their car out (hosted by Porsche Club of Winnipeg)

Parts Swap Meet, for those looking for that elusive part to finish off their project.

This charity will go toward benefitting Springs Inner City, a ministry dedicated to helping and feeding people in Winnipeg’s inner city.

The Northern Lightning Sprint Association is pleased to announce that we had 6 Lightning Sprints on display at the MTS Centre with the world-famous "Monster Jam this past weekend and was a great success. Along with a  Pit Party display as well as three races over the weekend.

La Cocina Tortilla Chips and the Northern Lightning Sprint Association just completed a feature display at Sobeys, located at St. Anne's & Bishop Grandin in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This display will run for a minimum of two weeks.

November 29th, 2008

The Northern Lightning Sprint Association was part of Nascar Night at the Manitoba Moose hockey game on November 29th, 2008.  Over 11,000 fans took in the hockey action at the MTS Centre and checked out Michael Waltrip's NAPA #55 Nascar and the Lightning Sprint.

The Bailey Lightning Sprint was part of a fund raising effort at Canada Safeway in Winnipeg. The car drew a great crowd and helped raise money for Breast Cancer research.
